Holy Crêpe!

We promised ourselves we’d return to the Latin Quarter of Paris for lunch and we delivered. We’d walked past a crêperie that looked promising and we were able to find our way back to it.
It was an early lunch, but not so early that we didn’t want a drink. We decided to split the difference by ordering some apple cider. It’s only 5.5% alcohol and was a nice pair for crêpes, both savoury and sweet.
French onion soup (known simply as onion soup since everything here is French) is a nice way to start off a lunch.
The savoury crêpes on the menu were made with buckwheat flour and presented folded into a square. I had one stuffed with ham, cheese and thinly sliced potato with a sunny-side-up egg on top. For a thin meal it was incredibly filling.
The sausage and cheese crêpe is a good choice for a child or an Englishman (it was the latter at our table who consumed it).
Dessert is really where crêpes shine. We shared a sweet crêpe with raspberry coulis, whipped cream and an icy lemon sorbet. The tartness of the sorbet was a nice compliment to the sweet dessert.
