Wine Events Spring 2010

There are so many exciting wine and food related events coming up in Vancouver and the Okanagan. Here are the highlights:
Dining Out for Life, Thursday, March 25th, 2010. A great event every Spring in Vancouver, Dining Our For Life is a fund-raising event to help the fight against AIDS. All you have to do to help is dine at one of the participating restaurants and 25% of their food revenues that day will be donated to A Loving Spoonful and Friends For Life. Sumac Ridge is sponsoring the event and giving $1 of every bottle sold in March to the cause.
2010 Wine & Beer Festival, Friday March 26th, 2010, 6:00 to 10:00pm, at The Edgewater Casino in Vancouver. This evening of wine and beer sampling is put on by JustHereForTheBeer.Com. Tickets are $45 and include all samples, souvenir glassware, live entertainment, light appetizers, festival brochure and tasting notes.
California Wine Fair, April 7th, 2010, 7:00 to 9:30pm, Vancouver Convention Centre. A $60 ticket gets you into the tasting room to sample wines from over 100 California producers.
Vancouver Spring Release Event‚ Monday, April 12th, 2010, 6:30 to 9:00pm, at The Westin Bayshore Hotel in Vancouver. The Naramata Bench Winery Association winemakers will be on hand to offer tastes of the "Best of the Bench" with the Spring wine release. Tickets are $85 and partial proceeds from the event’s auction will go to the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival, April 19 to 25th, 2010. Argentina and New Zealand will be the featured countries this year, while the global focus is on rosé. Check out the event schedule soon, many are already sold out.
Dine Out Vancouver, April 26 to May 6, 2010, various locations. This popular, annual event allows diners to enjoy multi-course, fixed-price menus from many of the city’s most popular restaurants at attractive prices. The reservations launch is Monday, April 19th — make those bookings!
Okanagan Spring Wine Festival, April 30 to May 9, 2010, 100+ events throughout Okanagan Wine Country — time to start planning that vacation!
Vancouver Craft Beer Week, May 10th to 16th, 2010, various locations. Whether it’s the main festival or the satellite events around the city, participating in this celebration is sure to teach you more about craft beer and help to grow the craft beer culture in the region.
EAT! Vancouver Food and Cooking Festival, May 28th to 30th, 2010, at the new Vancouver convention Centre, West Wing. A food show with more: beverage and kitchen goods, wineries, breweries, restaurants, cooking demonstrations, wine and cheese seminars, cookbook authors, and chef competitions.
