7. Rent a Dog

Dog for rent on DotomboriNot to worry if you are missing your pooch when you visit Osaka. Man’s best friend is for rent by the hour.

It’ll cost you about $10 to take out the puppy of your choice and that includes a care bag with some bottled water (for either the dog to drink or to wash its pee from the sidewalks), doggy treats, poo-baggies and newspaper to catch the hot No. Two as it drops.

If you don’t have time for a walk, perhaps you would prefer to enjoy a coffee in the dog relaxation café and play with the fuzzy mutts. If you need a rest, you might look into the service that allows you to lay down for a nap in a private room with a couple pups to bark you to sleep.

A helpful video in the café’s window explains the services. Look for the huge picture of the dog on the pedestrian Dotomburi strip in Osaka. It is a few doors down from the giant, mechanical crab.
